Most youth sports leagues that run a snack bar struggle with a good way to run it. If there was a list of "most popular" positions people want to volunteer for, coaching is at the top, and snack bar is usually near the bottom.
One league, Grant County Little League in West Virginia, has found a creative way to buck the trend by offering Sponsors the opportunity to work the snack bar. In exchange for their "community service," the sponsor gets a shout-out on social media.
Such a simple solution to what criples some leagues as a barrier all season long. This is also a great option for all of those emails that get returned with the old "Sorry, we are out of budget and cannot sponsor you this year."
You can follow Grant County WV Little League on Facebook. We reached out to them several times but have not received a response to any of our attempts. We will update this article if they respond.
